Champion pro-lifer stands up for unborn at White House meeting with Biden

A pro-life Super Bowl champion has used a White House event to stand up for the unborn against “the most pro-abortion administration in our history”.

Harrison Butker is a kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, which this year won Super Bowl LVII. His team was consequently invited to the White House to meet with President Biden.

At the event, Butker, a pro-lifer and Catholic, wore a tie imprinted with the words “Vulnerari Praesidio”, a Latin phrase meaning, “Protect the most vulnerable.”

Butker also wore a tiny feet badge in his jacket buttonhole representing the size of a 10-week-old unborn baby’s feet.

Both pro-life tie and badge were visible in the background of a speech by President Biden.

Butker later said: “I want to give the most vulnerable, the unborn, a voice at a place where every effort has been made to allow and normalize the tragic termination of their lives…

“As a father who has experienced three miscarriages, my wife and I understand the hardships that come with losing a child. Every life is precious and should be valued whether outside or inside the womb…

“President Biden is a professing Catholic who, as the most powerful man in the world, is responsible for leading the most pro-abortion administration in our history.”

In 2021, Notre Dame students and staff petitioned to stop pro-abortion President Biden from giving the commencement address at the noted Catholic university.

SPUC comment

A SPUC spokesperson said: “Super Bowl champion Harrison Butker is a credit to his team, his family and the pro-life movement. Standing up for the most vulnerable in a composed, classy way, he is a champion for the unborn of America.

“President Biden is certainly no friend to the unborn. His nomination of pro-abortion extremist Xavier Becerra to be US health secretary is just one case in point, outrageously selecting the same attorney general of California who tried to force Catholic nuns to fund abortions.

“It is important more than ever before that pro-lifers make their voices heard, and accordingly give a voice to the unborn, in the face of such pernicious pro-abortion policies.”
