A couple from Leeds, in West Yorkshire, quit their jobs to care for their premature baby daughter, Olivia. Now they oversee a successful business that sends messages of hope, thanks and love.
Cosy Treat Club is a personalised letterbox gifting company that allows customers to curate a special gift box to send to friends and family, together with a handwritten message. It was founded by Katie Seviour and her husband, Dan, in December 2021.
Before its founding, both parents had quit their jobs to look after baby Olivia, who was born prematurely and suffered health issues. She was in and out of hospital for 11 months.
But their business allowed Katie and Dan to work and stay at home to care for Olivia and their other daughter, Isabella.
“During Covid, we were both trying to juggle working from home with the girls and I was really unhappy”, says Katie.
“The business suited the needs of what we were going through. And our idea long-term is to give back to the hospital and nurses…
“When they’re unboxing their gift it’s in beautiful, detailed packaging. We want them to have a cup of tea with the teabag provided, put their hair in a bun and take that moment to breathe.”
