ABORTION RACISM: Billboard markets abortion to black women as ""self-care""

"A billboard campaign to glamorise the killing of black babies."

"Black communities are being targeted by the abortion industry."

A billboard that specifically targets black women for abortion has been slammed as "abortion racism" and as promoting genocide.

The billboard in Dallas, Texas, was put up by the Afiya Centre and reads "Black women take care of their families by taking care of themselves,"  and "ABORTION IS SELF-CARE." The billboard also includes the hashtag #TrustBlackWomen. It was put up in retaliation to a sign by the The National Black Pro-Life Coalition, which urged women to keep their babies.

Genocide

Obianuju Ekeocha, founder and president of Culture of Life Africa, decried "the boldness of abortion-racism" in this billboard. "Black communities are being targeted by the abortion industry with black women 3 times more likely to abort their babies than white women," she tweeted. "Yet, here is a billboard campaign to glamorise the killing of black babies. Dear sisters, wake up and walk away."

She added: "Yes, the easiest form of genocide is achieved by convincing a group of people to kill off their offspring. It is a silent genocide, it is a powerful genocide, it is an effective genocide, it is a genocide without a clear villain and it will only take a generation."

More likely to be aborted than born

Lila Rose, founder of the pro-life organization LiveAction, also pointed out how the abortion industry targets the black community in America. "The abortion lobby's war against Blacks is real," she tweeted. "Blacks make up 13% of the population, but endure 35% of abortions. In NYC, a Black baby is more likely to be aborted than to be born."

According to a city Health Department report released in May, between 2012 and 2016 black mothers in New York terminated 136,426 pregnancies and gave birth to 118,127 babies. By contrast, births far surpassed abortions among whites, Asians and Hispanics.

What about the UK?

That abortion targets black and minority women in the States has long been noted, and there are organisations that campaign specifically on this issue, but less research has been done in the UK. However, even a quick look at the abortion statistics reveals that race may indeed be a factor in abortion. The 2017 Abortion statistics state that 8% of abortions in England and Wales were carried out on Black or Black British women. This is more than double the the black population of the UK (3.3% in the most recent census).

Abortion and eugenics have always been linked. The disabled are clearly targeted in the letter of UK law, which allows abortion to birth for those with disability. The statistics on the ground seem to show that a more subtle but effective form of eugenics is going on which disproportionately pushes black woman to abort their children in this country.
