Outpouring of support for Poland’s disabled babies as SPUC presents over 2,500 UK names to Polish Embassy

In a huge outpouring of support for Poland’s disabled babies, over 2,500 SPUC supporters from throughout the UK added their names to a message calling on the Polish Government to stand firm in upholding the right to life of unborn disabled babies.

The names were presented to the Polish Embassy in London by Polish pro-lifer Iwona Sobczak, accompanied by SPUC’s Alithea Williams, with a request to the Polish Ambassador that the names are sent on to the Polish Government in Warsaw.

Antonia Tully, Director of Campaigns said: “Many thanks to all those who responded so quickly to our call to defend unborn disabled babies in Poland.

“Poland’s Constitutional Court has ruled that aborting unborn babies solely because they are disabled is contrary to the constitution of Poland. Poland stands alone in the Western world in taking such a stand to uphold the right to life of the weakest and most vulnerable of all human beings; unborn disabled babies.”

Hysterical fear of disabled unborn babies

The court ruling in Poland has sparked anti-life protests around the world.

“What we are seeing is nothing less than a hysterical fear of unborn babies with a disability,” said Antonia Tully. “The lessons from 75 years ago seem to have been forgotten. Cherishing people with a disability is the mark of a truly caring and civilised society. This is the mark the pro-life movement must make.”
