Abortion campaigners seem to leave no area of life untouched as they push their radical agenda. The latest gimmick has seen the Oregon branch of NARAL Pro-Choice America, one of the country's biggest pro-abortion activist groups, team up with a local ice-cream parlour to sell abortion themed ice-cream.
NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon has partnered with What's the Scoop to raise money from it's "Rocky Roe v Wade" flavoured ice-cream, named after the 1973 Supreme Court case that forced all fifty states to allow most abortions.
In total, four flavours of ice-cream are being sold until August 26 under the hashtag #SaveRoe. Half the money will go to NARAL, with sales helping "defend reproductive freedom."
The #SaveRoe hashtag indicates the stunt is also meant to help generate opposition to the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, whom President Donald Trump has nominated to the Supreme Court and is considered a likely vote to overturn Roe v Wade.
Abortion themed ice-cream doesn't seem to have vast appeal, with the vast majority of comments under the twitter announcement expressing disgust and outrage.
Jonathan Lockwood, a local Portland-based political consultant, criticized NARAL for the "disgusting" move in two different Medium posts. "What have we come to when aborting 8 month pre-born babies or aborting babies because they’re little girls, is one acceptable, but worse, two is celebrated!” Lockwood he asked. "I thought I was pro-choice when I came to Oregon, but after seeing first-hand how insidious this far-left agenda has become I am embarrassed to call myself pro-choice."
The gimmick this time perhaps reveals a little too much of how distasteful the whole abortion industry really is.
