SPUC launches nationwide petition as poll finds most parents don’t want sex ed in schools

SPUC's Safe at School campaign has launched a nationwide petition calling on the government to ban sexually-explicit videos from primary schools. London pro-lifers to hold vigil outside abortion centre on 28 May

Pro-lifers in London will hold a vigil outside one of the city's main abortion centres on Saturday 28 May. The vigil will be organised by 40 Days For Life and will feature Catholic Marian devotions. [Fr Tim Finigan, 5 May]

Irish women halt Swiss suicide trip after jail warning

A Irish woman with multiple sclerosis and her close friend have cancelled a trip to a Swiss suicide centre after a warning from Irish police. The police knew about the woman's plan to commit suicide at Dignitas in Zurich. The women, who have remained anonymous, were warned that the woman's friend could face imprisonment for up to 14 years if the plan had gone ahead. [Irish Examiner, 6 May]
