No human being can be made to be perfect, whether physically, mentally or in any other way. We all have multiple imperfections and many people have disabilities, often subtle or unknown.

Treating abortion as a form of necessary medical care for a victim of rape is dishonest and simplistic; a woman who has been raped requires support and assistance to recover from the rape and abortion can never erase the horror of that act or help the woman to heal.

Today marks the 48th Anniversary of the passing of the 1967 Abortion Act through Parliament. Since the Act became law, more than 8.4 million babies have been killed by legal abortion in England, Scotland and Wales.

We strive to end abortion because it kills human beings, disabled or not. The only way to have true equality is to have it from the womb to the tomb. Therefore, the law should reflect this.
