I have lived in Liverpool all my life as part of a large family. I am one of six children and all of us have been involved in pro-life work growing up, following the example of my parents, especially my mother who is an active member of the local SPUC branch and region.

In September 2007, I took up a place at Hull York Medical School. Even though the course is quite challenging I have enjoyed every aspect of it so far. When I graduate and become a doctor I am hoping to be able to use my skills to help save lives. I think abortion is never the answer and hope that one day, as a doctor, I will be able to help women to make the right decision.

I think it is vital that society understands and appreciates the sanctity of every human life whether it is a developing child in the womb or somebody approaching the end of their life. Two years ago, I did a sponsored walk for SPUC around Hyde Park in London. The weather was beautiful and I really enjoyed myself. Now that I have committed to doing a skydive for SPUC I realise what a "walk in the park" that day was. I am now faced with jumping out of a plane at over 10,000 feet and I'm terrified! But I'm sure in the 8 minutes it takes for me to reach solid ground I will be able to stop panicking and enjoy the ride?! I hope so.....

Like Siobhan, I have also just completed my first year at Hull York Medical School, and it has been a demanding yet very enjoyable year. Even though I am only 19, I have already had the experience of having to help a close friend deal with the after effects of an abortion. Seeing first hand the impact an abortion has on such a young life has really challenged my views on the procedure, and has made me more determined to help women make sure that they make the right decision for them and their unborn child when faced with crisis pregnancies in my career.

Doing this skydive will be one of the most extreme things I've ever done, but if I can change just one woman's mind then it will be worthwhile. I can't wait to do this for SPUC!
