2011 Christmas Day Fast

ireland_fast

A father and Son from Northern Ireland will be going without turkey and Christmas pudding this year, in order to raise money for the unborn. Gordon Woolsey and his father Don will be fasting for the whole of Christmas day, so please be kind and do two things: spare a thought for Gordon and Don as you enjoy your Christmas dinner, and please donate something to support this very kind and worthy act for the unborn. Here's a message from Gordon:

“My name is Gordon Woolsey from Portadown in Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland.

I am a Christian, have been a member of SPUC for the last few years, and I have a passion for what SPUC is doing to help unborn children. So much so that my dad, Don, and I are going to do a 24 hour Christmas day fast this year.  We are donating to 2 good causes, one being SPUC, and the other being The Irish Mission.

My dad has fasted every 5 years for the past 20 years and this will be his last, so I decided to join him and then 5 years from now I will continue by fasting every 5 years in aid of good causes. Dad’s first fast raised £2,000, the next one raised £4,000, and his last fast raised £5,000. We hope to match that this year.”
