Swindon branch re-established

On 19 August 2008 a meeting was held to set up a SPUC branch in the Swindon area. Peter Smith gave a presentation on his work lobbying at the United Nations. Following this there was some general debate, and then office bearers were appointed.

George Verwer's 70th birthday

On 5 July 2008 I was privileged to attend George Verwer's 70th birthday celebration in London with around 300 people who had worked, or currently work, with Operation Mobilisation (OM). There was a very large group of OMers who had been with George in OM in the 1960s. It was such a treat to be with these great people. George mentioned how he had started to get involved with pro-life issues and introduced me at the meeting. At the lunch after the meeting I met up with my old friend Gos Hume who used to run the Christian Resources Exhibitions.
